We are the Itatex

We are the Itatex

In 1996, a small weaving of floor cloths and dish towels appeared in the city

from Itaporanga about 430 km from João Pessoa, capital of Paraíba. Initially it was called

of Tecelagem Itaporanga, had only 10 employees in a space of 200 m².

Despite the humble entry into the market, the micro-enterprise was already showing promise, thanks to the

constant effort to please its customers and zeal with its products. Cultivating values

as quality and professionalism, the small family factory grew and conquered

markets, initially in the Northeast region and soon after in all states of Brazil.

Aside from the principles responsible for its success, there are no longer any traces of weaving

simple as before. The factory that was renamed Itatex (Joining terms: ITAporanga

TÊXtil), today has almost 230 employees in an area of almost 10,000 m².

As a result of its notable success, other small entrepreneurs became interested in the sector and several

establishments were created in the municipality to meet the growing demand for the

products. In this way, the city gradually became a textile hub, recognized

nationally that has always been welcomed and encouraged by the pioneer Itatex, promoting the

generation of employment and income in the region and massively collaborating for the development

economy in the region.Always determined to improve its products, Itatex has gone through many stages of

modernization of equipment and processes. In 2007 we evolved our processing with the

hot washing, a process that provided another level of quality and whiteness to the cloths and

also, in the same period, when we moved from shuttle to projectile looms,

also enabling the improvement of fabrics and productive efficiency. It is for all this context mentioned so far, and for everything we know that we were able to

provide for a change in reality, not only in the lives of each employee and partner

that passed through the company, but also in the community where we operate (Region of Vale

do Piancó in the Sertão da Paraíba) in terms of socioeconomic development, which we are

more and more firm in ours.

Purpose: To make the world aware that the simplest things, done with excellence, transform realities
